Florida Horticulture Society seeks to widen participation
The Florida Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services is pleased to help promote participation in the Florida Horticulture Society’s Annual Meeting May 31 – June 2, 2015 at the Renaissance World Golf Village Resort in St. Augustine. More information on the meeting is available here: http://fshs.org/meetings/
“We hope those interested in horticulture will plan to attend,” said conference coordinator Mercy Olmstead, Ph.D., UF-IFAS stone fruit Extension specialist (firstname.lastname@example.org). “This may be a great opportunity for agencies like DPI to present at our conference for topics of interest, as well.”
May 8 is the deadline for reservations at the FSHS discount rate.
The Florida State Horticulture Society is the nation’s oldest horticultural society, established in 1888. The society has over 100 years of Proceedings filled with scientific research and reports generated from our annual meetings.
The meeting is filled with presentations in various horticultural commodity groups, including citrus, vegetable production, specialty crops (Krome Section), ornamental, garden and landscapes, and handling and processing of fruit and vegetable crops. There are several networking opportunities planned throughout the conference which allow for interaction with university and industry researchers (on and off the links!).
Abstracts for research and extension presentations are welcome and encouraged. Abstract title submission deadline is February 13. Abstract submission deadline is March 13. Please find more information about the conference and abstract submission at: http://fshs.org/meetings/.
“The good thing about science is that it’s true whether or not you believe in it.”
