Protecting Agriculture, Particularly Our Citrus
February 2, 2015
Every day our agricultural detector dogs are at work, protecting Florida agriculture by screening packages at major shipping hubs. Last Wednesday, Detector Dog team Gregg Farina and Audi, working a FedEx facility in central Florida, intercepted a package from California containing two bags of Kaffir lime leaves.
The plant product was refused entry into Florida in accordance with Florida Statute 581.182 and was confiscated.
